Semi-final results at the Jiangxi Open, Peterson ends Stojanovic's streak

During the sixth day at the Jiangxi Open in Nanchang two semi-final matches decided about two title challengers.

In the first semifinal match, fifth seeded Rebecca Peterson and Nina Stojanovic, who was unbeaten in last 8 matches, met. Peterson stopped the Stojanovic series and begin her own, when winning nine matches from the last 11th. Swedish player did not give the opponent a chance in the match, dominating from the very beginning and winning 6-3 and 6-1.
Home crowd favorite Shuai Peng fought in the second match for the seat in the final against Elena Rybakina. Peng entered the match terribly when she lost the first set 6-1. But in the second set, with the help of a home spectators, she was able to equalize the score and decided in the third set.
Although it was the Chinese player who first got the break ball in the third set, she couldn't convert it and then her opponent dominated the set when she won it 6-2. Rybakina can win her third title this year in Nanchang, second on the WTA circuit. After the match Rybakina said:
"It was a tough match, but I'm so happy to be in the final," she continued. "In the second set, I lost a bit of concentration and I did a lot of mistakes, but I'm happy to get through and make it to the final."
