This title win comes at a crucial point in Collins' career, as the Australian Open finalist recently announced she would be retiring this season. The World No.22 took to Instagram to express her gratitude to her friends and fans, and the retired Williams was quick to show her love and support for her countrywoman.
"So happy love this and you," former eight-time Miami champion Williams wrote in the comment section of Collins' Instagram post.
Responding to Williams, Collins wrote: "@serenawilliams I love you more!!!"
However, Williams was not done heaping praise on Collins, as the 23-time Grand Slam champion had another joyous comment in response to a post by the WTA Instagram page celebrating Collins' win.
"Yeeeeeeaaaaaaaa!" exclaimed Williams.
