Coco Gauff has been lauded as the biggest tennis talent ever since she broke out at Wimbledon as a 16-year old yet the American was replaced by Emma Raducanu as the most exciting young tennis star. Raducanu as Gauff announced herself to the world at Wimbledon before becoming the biggest talk of tennis with her sensational win at the US Open.
The more experienced and younger Gauff was asked by reporters what she would tell Raducanu as someone who has been on the tour longer as a teenager to which she responded:
"The best thing I could [say], and I'm sure she's probably heard it, is to set time aside from the phone. Because it is exciting when you get all the retweets, all the follows and all of that, but it can be a bit overwhelming. At least in my experience. That's probably what I wish I would've known, not to focus on social media."
It's good advice from Gauff especially at a time in history when the internet is dominating a lot of person lives. Players have recently spoken loudly about the abuse they tend to get after losing a match and Raducanu would want to stay away from such negative thoughts especially with her becoming a very prominent face on the Tour.
