Tennis fans have come out in support of Garbine Muguruza extending her break away from tennis after she posted an update saying she'll miss both the clay and grass season.
Muguruza opted to take a break away from tennis in February and she'll extend it through summer because she's been enjoying spending time with friends and family. Tennis fans have come out in support of that decision on social media because she did look quite miserable in February. Her update said:
"Hey guys what's going on. Spending time with family and friends and it's really been healthy and amazing so I am going to lengthen this period till summer, therefore I am going to miss clay and grass season. Thanks for all the lovely messages and will be updating you guys."
We bring you some reactions to it:
"Nice to see Garbine Muguruza prioritizing her mental well being and extending her time away from the game to be around friends and family. She plans on returning this summer following the grass court season. Wish her all the best."
"I think this is good for her. She was so unhappy on court so for her mental health best to take the time away to recharge and decide when and if she wants to return to a sport she once loved. Anyone watching could see how uncomfortable and unhappy she was on the court lately."
