Former player
Chris Evert believes that
Iga Swiatek is fully prepared to win the Roland Garros despite the recent loss to Aryna Sabalenka in the Madrid Open final.
Swiatek has been quite up and down this year compared to last year with losses to several players proving that she can be beaten. Even on clay, Swiatek is beatable though the Madrid Open is not a very good measuring tool for that due to the specific conditions in the Spanish capital. Roland Garros plays quite a bit differently which should suit her more.
Evert believes that she won't have any problems in Paris:
"I really liked the pace at which Iga Swiatek has walked in recent weeks. She didn't play in Miami or the Billie Jean King Cup, she is being smart in her training, scheduling her breaks."
She also added:
"She is fully prepared and clay is her best surface. She has both a great defense and a great offensive arsenal, she takes the ball out of your hand and takes control of every exchange by moving so well and hitting early."
