Chris Evert spoke about
Carlos Alcaraz and
Roland Garros recently noting that he's the favourite regardless of what might happen at the Rome Open this week.
Alcaraz won the Madrid Open to nobody's surprise as many expected him to do just that. Some think he might even win the Rome Open this week but it's going to be a bit tougher as Djokovic is playing and might challenge him for that. Nobody knows what sort of level Djokovic will bring but even if he outplays Alcaraz and beats him, it won't matter much to Evert:
"Honestly, nothing really has to happen even if he loses the first round, which is not going to happen. But maybe, he's still to me a very, very clear favorite ahead of Roland Garros."
She added that his level and the fact that he played so much on the surface is a clear edge compared to the rest of the field:
"Carlos has had so many more matches behind his belt and for Carlos right now as soon as he steps off the court until he gets to Paris, it's all about the preparation for Roland Garros already."
