World No.1 Iga Swiatek has continued from her Porsche Tennis Grand Prix Stuttgart exploits by opening up her Madrid Open campaign with a dominant win over Julia Grabher.
Swiatek saw off the Austrian 6-3, 6-2 and was in the zone throughout. She will next face American, Bernarda Pera who will be the next to try and trouble the dominance of the Pole.
After a fairly even start to the contest, Swiatek took the early initiative and the only break of the opening set sealing it at 3-1 and sealed it 6-3 from there.
In the second and final set, Grabher surrendered her serve to start the set twice at 1-0 and 3-0 but broke back immediately before making it the closest that it was in the tie at 3-2 but Swiatek broke pivotally at 5-2 before serving it out on her first match point.
