Iga Swiatek and
Aryna Sabalenka will contest the
Porsche Tennis Grand Prix final and it's the first time two top seeds will face each other in the final since the 2018 Australian Open.
Interestingly we saw this exact final last year as well with Swiatek emerging as the winner but they weren't the top seed back then. Swiatek was the number one seed but Sabalenka wasn't the second seed at the event. This year that's the case and it's the first time since the 2018 Australian Open that two top seeds are facing each other in the final.
Even more interesting is the fact that this is the first time since 2013 that a clay final features the two top seeds. The one in 2013 featured Serena Wiliams and Maria Sharapova. The one in 2018 featured Simona Halep and Caroline Wozniacki.
