News that
Iga Swiatek won a match is not news anymore as the Polish player keeps on rolling and racking up dominant wins.
The last few matches Swiatek played were all finished with her opponent winning one or maybe two games at most. Such was the case today as once again the opponent of Swiatek was completely overwhelmed from the start. Eva Lys is not the sort of play that can seriously challenge Swiatek everybody knew that. The Polish player used this match as a great warm-up match for the rest of the event.
Her level was pretty good, it was not anything special but she simply dominated the rallies with her angles and consistency. A couple of errors by her opponent, a couple of winners were enough to send her past her opponent in both sets.
The scores were 6-1 6-1 in both sets with the first set taking 30 minutes and the 2nd one taking 34 minutes. She dropped more points on her first serve than on her 2nd but overall it was a good match and a good practice for her. Her movement was a bit rusty but she will get it back as she plays more matches.
