Tatjana Maria's Thailand Open run has come to an end as she was easily beaten by Lesia Tsurenko who proved better in two quick sets 6-1 6-1.
Maria played well in this event and continued to defy her age but she was powerless against a very strong Tsurenko. It's been that kind of a week for the Ukranian tennis player as everything she does works. This is not her first convincing win this week as she smashed her way past opponents from the start.
It was pretty clear early that this would be another match like that. She took an early break and added another to finish off the opening set 6-1. Maria simply couldn't do much against her opponent because Tsurenko was hitting a lot of winners and that and a defensive player like Maria has no way to counter when that happens.
She tried some things here and there but there was no solution as Tsurenko continued playing her game and it worked to perfection in the second set as well. 6-1 was the score in both sets as she moves on to the semi-final.
