Iga Swiatek believes that her dominance in women’s
tennis along with
Aryna Sabalenka is showing consistency in the WTA. The
22-year-old is often regarded as the best player currently playing in women’s
tennis in the singles category, having won as many as four Grand Slam titles,
that too so early in her career.
Swiatek is currently taking part in the Stuttgart Open where
she has booked her place in the quarterfinal after beating Belgium’s Elise Mertens
in straight sets with a score of 6-3, 6-4. Swiatek was quoted in a report
recently where she highlighted how her dominance along with Sabalenka shows there
is consistency in the WTA.
"Well, the question is if I already did that for past
two years, because I feel like I have been pretty dominant, and also Aryna has
been, so we both kind of have shown that there is consistency on WTA,” she said.
“I remember when I was playing in 2020, 2021, I also got many questions about
consistency, and I felt like some players, you know, have proven that it's
possible. So I already feel like I have been pretty dominant. But we'll see
what next years are going to bring. There have been players that have been
dominating throughout their whole careers, you know, and I'm still at the
beginning. So there is still so much work to do.”
