Britain’s tennis star
Emma Raducanu has revealed that she is
really happy with her progress in the recent past but believes that there is
still more to come from her. The 21-year-old has struggled with consistent fitness
concerns in the recent past and has returned to professional tennis after a gap
of nearly one year at the start of the 2024 season.
Ever since her return to the court, Raducanu has been through
her best form as she played a key role in Britain’s success in the Billie Jean
King Cup against France.
She continued her form in the ongoing
Stuttgart Open where
she has now booked her place in the quarterfinal after beating Linda Noskova in
straight sets with a score of 6-0, 7-5.
Raducanu was quoted after the match when she revealed that
she is not surprised with her performances on the court which is the fruit of
her work behind the scenes and also believes that there is more to come.
"I must say I’m not too surprised because I’ve been
working really hard on the training court and I knew it was a matter of time,” she
said. “Honestly, I don’t think this is my best. I still have a long way to go.
Emma Raducanu is set to face off against Iga Swiatek in the quarterfinal of the Stuttgart Open.
"But, I’m just really happy the rewards are starting to
come on the match court because you know how it is when you are training day in
and day out, and you feel like the results aren't exactly going your way, but
it’s never that far away, I guess."
And that's something I have been learning. Just doing the
right things every single day, and things happen and you don't even know how or
why.” The former world number 10 and one-time Grand Slam winner is not set to face
the current world number one Poland’s Iga Swiatek in the last-eight clash on
Friday.
