Andy Roddick's opinion is that Iga Swiatek's achievements have been overshadowed by the success of Serena Williams and the Big-3.

Former world No. 1 Andy Roddick commented on the achievements of Iga Swiatek so far. The Polish player has been the world No. 1 since Ashleigh Barty's retirement in early last year and had an incredible 2022, where she had more than double the points of the world No. 2.

Swiatek had a streak of 37 consecutive wins, the highest on the WTA tour in the 21st century, and she is seen as the player who can dominate for many years due to her youth.

With 14 titles at the age of 22, Swiatek is the favorite in every tournament she plays and has dominated most of her opponents, consistently achieving bagels and winning most of her matches by conceding few games.

Swiatek has won the French Open three times (2020, 2022, 2023) and the US Open once (2022), totaling four Grand Slam titles, in addition to her five WTA 1000 and five WTA 500 titles.

For Andy Roddick, the achievements of Swiatek may not be seen as significant when compared to Serena Williams or the Big-3: Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic, and Roger Federer, all with at least 20 Grand Slam titles. However, Roddick acknowledges Swiatek's "phenomenal" performance:

"She's phenomenal, won four Slams now. Kind of in the tornado of the Big-3 and Serena [Williams] retiring, this storyline is getting lost a little bit. She is, you know, a three-time Roland Garros winner, won one US Open last year. Just history being made all the time," Roddick said.

Starting from Monday, Swiatek will play the only grass-court tournament on her calendar before Wimbledon. In Bad Homburg, she is the top seed and the favorite, as the championship lacks any other top-10 players and has only five players within the top-30.
