Aryna Sabalenka and Jessica Pegula emerged victorious from two highly competitive quarterfinals to set up a blockbuster semifinal clash between the world No. 1 and the home favourite. Sabalenka survived a dramatic three-set battle against Linda Noskova, while Pegula recovered from a set down to end Emma Navarro's impressive run in New York.

Both matches produced major momentum swings, with Noskova coming close to ending Sabalenka's title defence before the Belarusian held her nerve in the deciding tiebreak. Pegula, meanwhile, found her best tennis after a difficult opening set and turned an all-American battle around against Navarro. Sabalenka is now through to her sixth consecutive US Open semifinal, where a repeat of the 2024 final against Pegula awaits.

Aryna Sabalenka survived her toughest test of the tournament so far, overcoming Linda Noskova in a dramatic three-set battle to keep her US Open title defence alive. The two-time defending champion was pushed to the limit by the reigning Wimbledon champion, with very little separating the pair across more than two hours of high-level tennis.

The opening set was decided in a dominant tiebreak from Sabalenka, who raised her level when the pressure increased to take it 7-6(1). Noskova refused to go away, however, and produced an impressive response in the second set. The Czech began finding greater success against Sabalenka's serve and levelled the match with a 6-3 set, ensuring the world No. 1 would face her first real three-set test of the tournament.

The deciding set developed into another rollercoaster. Noskova had opportunities to put Sabalenka under serious pressure and even held the advantage at different stages, but the Belarusian refused to surrender. The match eventually headed to a final-set tiebreak, where Sabalenka once again delivered in the biggest moments to seal a 7-6(7) victory. Noskova's performance, which included 18 aces, was not enough to stop the defending champion, who extended her run to six consecutive US Open semifinals and remains alive in her bid for a third straight title.

Jessica Pegula recovered from a difficult opening set to defeat Emma Navarro and book her place in the US Open semifinals. The all-American clash initially appeared to be moving in Navarro's direction, but Pegula gradually found greater consistency and turned the momentum around as the match progressed.

Navarro made the stronger start, taking the opening set 6-3 and putting Pegula under pressure with her ability to absorb pace and extend rallies. Pegula struggled to find the same rhythm that had carried her through the earlier rounds, while Navarro looked increasingly comfortable in the conditions and appeared capable of reaching another Grand Slam semifinal.

The third seed responded when it mattered. Pegula raised her level in the second set, becoming more aggressive from the baseline and doing a better job of controlling her service games to level the match 6-4. With the momentum now shifting, she took control of the deciding set and closed out a 6-3 victory to reach another US Open semifinal.

The win sets up a repeat of the 2024 US Open final, when Sabalenka defeated Pegula to claim the title. This time, the American will have another opportunity to stop the world No. 1 on home soil, while Sabalenka continues her pursuit of a third consecutive crown in New York.
