The tournament in Flushing Meadows was founded back in 1881 and we have seen 139 editions up until now. Due to public health concerns, the 140th edition of the tournament is now endangered. Already 2 tournaments in the United States were cancelled and now also the first Grand Slam was cancelled as well. Now, he USTA released a statement regarding Wimbledon's Cancellation.

"We understand the unique circumstances facing the AELTC and the reasoning behind the decision to cancel the 2020 Wimbledon Championships. At this time, the USTA still plans to host the US Open as scheduled. And we continue to hone plans to stage the tournament", USTA wrote.
