Venus Williams continues her hiatus from tennis and she could be getting married very soon if rumours are to be believed. The legendary tennis star was spotted with a huge diamond ring on her finger while in Rome with her boyfriend Andrea Preti over the past week.
The 44-year-old who shows no signs of retiring from the sport and still makes sporadic appearances has been linked to the filmmaker since last summer after being spotted on vacation with him in Italy.
Less than a year later, WIlliams sparked rumours that they were already engaged after rocking a ring on her left ring finger. But also there could yet be good news for those wanting to see her return to action.
Preti joined his girlfriend for training in Rome on Sunday as they were seen joking and holding hands between practice. He was also spotted turning photographer as members of the club took a photo with the tennis legend.
She has previously been linked with Reilly Opelka albeit the two are merely just close friends. She last played at Indian Wells and Miami last year and given her recent practice, she could be yet gearing up to play in the Sunshine Double.
Also dating Preti is also a turn for Williams who previously said she enjoys single life and it would take a lot for it to change. Well given the recent rumours, she could yet be engaged. Or it could just be an expensive ring to send fans into a frenzy. Time will tell
'I've had a single life for a long time and I think it's really easy to get stuck in a single life and sometimes – at least for me – harder to get out,' she said previously to Glamour back in 2022.
'It makes you think about yourself and what you want and how to behave.'
