Venus Williams continues to share awareness of Sjogren's Syndrome: "Never stop fighting for your health"

Despite being diagnosed with Sjogren's Syndrome, an autoimmune disorder, in 2011, WTA legend Venus Williams has not let it slow her down and continues to raise awareness about the disease.
April is celebrated as Sjogren's Awareness Month and this year, a 26-year-old woman named Courtney, who has had the disease since she was 22, gave her thoughts about living with it and the importance of treating it.
"It’s important to remember that it’s ok to treat yourself," wrote Courtney. "You deserve it! Living with Sjögren’s can be unpredictable, especially as a student. My best advice is to know that this isn’t your fault and never stop fitting for adequate care."
Williams shared the lady's statement on her Instagram account, along with a powerful message.
"Never stop fighting for your health," wrote the American tennis star.
Williams was diagnosed with Sjogren's in 2011, and was forced to withdraw from her second-round US Open match that year. However, the seven-time Grand Slam champion would return to action in 2012, winning another six tournaments and reaching two Grand Slam finals. the 2017 Australian Open and Wimbledon Championships.
