(VIDEO) Badosa thanks the crowd in Italian after defeating Jabeur to open Rome Open campaign

Paula Badosa opened her Rome Open campaign with an impressive win over last year's finalist Ons Jabeur and after the match, the Spaniard thanked the crowd in Italian.

Spanish and Italian are related languages coming from the Romance language tree however they're not that similar. You could pick up the other if you spoke one of them easier but generally speaking Italians and Spaniards are not that familiar with each other's languages. That's not a problem for Paula Badosa whose been in Italy many times.

She made sure to thank the Italian crowd who supported her during the match in Italian saying:

"Grazie Mille. Ti amo."
