Aryna Sabalenka days after the tragic passing of her ex-boyfriend, Konstantin Koltsov showed incredible bravery to step out onto the court at the
Miami Open no mind win against
Paula Badosa in a 6-4, 6-3 win for the World Number Two. Emotions ran high in particular at the end between the pair.
Sabalenka who lost to Emma Navarro last week at Indian Wells then traveled to Miami where her life was quickly altered when her ex-boyfriend reportedly committed suicide in Miami on Monday night. His ex-wife believed that alcohol may have played a part.
Sabalenka who in her only statement shared that she was heartbroken also confirmed they were no longer together before his passing was back on the practice court in the days that followed cutting a forlorn figure. Despite rain delays, she faced off against Badosa. In many ways though, it was a perfect opponent amid the turmoil with the Spaniard being her best friend and likely one of the main people she will turn to during this time.
That showed at the net with the pair sharing an emotional embrace albeit with a smile between the pair at the end as they shared a beautiful moment together. Watch the video below.
