Emma Raducanu has never shied away from the multicultural background in which she grew up and she showed her respect to her Chinese roots by fluently speaking Mandarin.
Emma Raducanu was born in Canada to a Romanian father and Chinese mother. Not long after that, the family settled in England where she grew up. Today the Brit represents the United Kingdom in tennis but proudly identifies with her Romanian and Chinese ancestry. This week she played her first event in her father's country of Romania with her father accompanying her.
Before that, she showed respect to her Chinese roots by posting a video thanking Chinese fans for widespread support during her US Open run. The Brit is a fluent Mandarin speaker which she learned from her mother. With such diverse ancestry Raducanu already boasts a huge fanbase consisting of British fans, Romanian fans, and Chinese fans.
