Jessica Pegula saw frustrations boil over during her loss to
Katie Boulter at the
United Cup albeit in the context of the tie, she still came back to seal the deal in mixed doubles despite handing the Brit a first top five win.
USA sealed the tie 2-1 with Pegula and Taylor Fritz teaming against Neal Skupski and Boulter to claim the mixed doubles. But in a show of passion for the United Cup, it showed the bench of the US team during her loss to Boulter as she sat next to David Witt who is both the US Team Captain and also her long-term coach.
Pegula looked on course for a fairly uncomplicated win as she turned a 4-2 first set deficit into a 7-5, 3-0 lead, but let that go as Katie Boulter caught fire from a set and a break down to score her best win by ranking ever.
"How many f***ing returns am I going to miss," exclaimed Pegula. She responded on her X account (formerly Twitter) as the video was released not realising that she was mic'd up. "Just upset I was missing returns (laughing emoji) I didn’t know I was mic'd," she replied.
