Elina Svitolina has become the darling of 2023 Wimbledon in many ways with the crowd getting behind her mostly in her wins over Victoria Azarenka and Iga Swiatek.
But it led to some interesting questions including one from Simon Briggs of The Telegraph who asked about whether she saw that they had almost adopted her as a Brit after the demise of all of their players.
Swiatek didn't seem to understand the question looking puzzled saying that she isn't British though and said that the support didn't make a difference and she didn't care really due to the cauldron that was Centre Court.
"I don't really know what you mean because I think she is fully Ukrainian. Especially with what is going on right now," said Swiatek post match.
"It didn't really measure, the voices of the people in the crowd so it was hard for me to say who they were cheering for. I thought it was a lot more even so I don't really care."
