America’s young tennis star Coco Gauff wore an eye patch in an
interesting tactic to train ahead of the 2024 campaign.
The 19-year-old is often regarded as one of the most
highly-rated young players in the women’s single category currently playing in
the circuit. In a video that appeared on social media platform X — previously known
as Twitter — Gauff can be seen wearing a shade in an interesting tactic ahead
of the 2024 season.
Gauff recently lived up to the hype as she lifted her maiden
Grand Slam title on her home soil. She won the US Open 2023 title after beating
the current world number two Belarus’ Aryna Sabalenka in the final with a score
of 2–6, 6–3, 6–2.
Other than that, she also played in the quarterfinal of the
French Open but lost to the current world number one Poland’s Iga Swiatek in straight
sets with a score of 6-4, 6-2.
Gauff ended the season strongly as well as she managed to qualify
for the semifinal of the last major tournament of the season — WTA Finals in
Cancun. However, she ended up losing to fellow American Jessica Pegula in
straight sets with a score of 6-2, 6-1.
