Mirra Andreeva's defeat to Madison Keys saw the 16-year-old Russian lose out 6-3, 6-7(3), 2-6 in the end after being on the verge of being 5-1 up in the second set, but it was a sad ending to an incredible
Wimbledon run.
Andreeva had previously let her temper show as Keys came back into the clash throwing her racquet which saw her claim a code violation in a moment not shown by the TV cameras.
But on the verge of defeat, Andreeva slipped and her racquet fell to the floor but the umpire saw it as code violation worthy.
Andreeva argued furiously with the umpire but it wasn't enough. She aced the next shot but her luck wasn't in as Keys challenged and it was confirmed out before she lost next point.
She left the court obviously frustrated and ending a great run on a sour note.
