The
WTA Finals event in Guadalajara was a fabulous one that saw a packed crowd enjoy high-level tennis every day.
The players enjoyed it and it became a very successful experiment by the WTA after many criticized the decision to hold the finals in Mexico. The final two players standing were
Garbine Muguruza and
Anett Kontaveit. Both of them did extremely well to reach the final but their paths were a bit different. Muguruza started off slow but built up to form over the course of the week while Kontaveit looked best at the start.
Muguruza defeated her in the group stage and after meeting in the final she did it again. The matchup was a good one for Muguruza who was able to defend really well against Kontaveit who usually hits very hard. The Estonian player needed to be extremely sharp to win this match and she was not. There were plenty of highlights though and you can check them out below. It's well worth it.
