Danielle Collins took down Ons Jabeur in another win for the American and another loss for the Tunisian second seed who showed her frustration after being broken in the final set.
After losing the opening set, Jabeur thrashed Collins in the second 6-1, but soon was 2-0 down in the final set. Not one for usually losing her cool, she smashed her racquet against the floor in venomous fashion.
As Collins won the point, Jabeur thundered her racquet against the crown crushing it to pieces. It got worse for Jabeur who went on to lose the final set and went out again. It adds to multiple recent defeats against Mirra Andreeva, Elina Avanesyan among others in recent months. Barely winning a game amid a knee injury, Jabeur has a lot of points to defend during the clay court season so this isn't the perfect start.
