Video: Serena Williams sparks talk of comeback with intense training video

Although Serena Williams has not taken to the court since last year's Wimbledon, the WTA legend is eying a return and took to social media to tease fans with a training video ahead of her anticipated comeback.

Williams was forced to retire in her first-round match at the All England Club last year due to a hamstring injury, which kept her out of action for the rest of the season. The 40-year old withdrew from this year's Australian Open, stating she felt she was not at the point where she needed to be to compete. However, it appears the former World No.1 may be eying a return at Wimbledon, as she has hinted at such a few times since her injury.

In a video posted to Instagram, Williams added fuel to the speculations by posting a training session video. However, in her typical creative fashion, the video was more than just her hitting a few balls. It began with her in a pink dress as she threw her racquet in the air to catch it back in the next transition. Coming to the main segment of the video, the 23-time Grand Slam champion wore a Nike outfit as she practiced on a hard court, hitting serves and groundstrokes.

Although the seven-time Wimbledon champion is yet to confirm her return to the tour, fans can only hope it happens sooner rather than later.
