Some of the big-name players will participate in the 2024
Billie Jean King Cup Qualifiers. The mega-event is set to be organised from
April 12 to November 17 where different teams will take part and battle it out to
secure the ultimate prize.
According to the latest report, a lot of stars will perform
in the mega-event. Young
Emma Raducanu will be representing Team Britain.
The 21-year-old recently took part in the Indian Wells where
she was knocked out after losing in the round of 32 to the current world number
two Belarus’ Aryna Sabalenka in straight sets with a score of 6-3, 7-5.
Former world number one and four-time Grand Slam winner Noami
Osaka will be representing the team Japan. The 26-year-old, who recently made
her way back to the court after a gap of more than 12 months, participated in
the Indian Wells where she was knocked out after losing in the third round to Elise
Mertens with a score of 7-5, 6-4.
Former world number one
Simona Halep will make her much-awaited
return and represent team Romania. The 32-year-old has been out of action for
more than 12 months after failing a dope test. She is eligible once again to
play the sport after the Court of Arbitration (CAS) reduced her four-year ban
to just nine months.
One of the most
notable absentees will be the current world number three Coco Gauff. She will not
be representing Team USA in the mega-event.
