The Women's Draw has been revealed ahead of the
US Open which begins August 30 - September 12 with the top names involved being
Ashleigh Barty,
Naomi Osaka,
Aryna Sabalenka and Bianca Andreescu.
As usual, the WTA side of the draw is packed full of quality ties in the opening round and will likely be as close as ever in the latest Grand Slam.
Barty will start as No.1 seed as she aims to add the US Open to her collection after her Wimbledon triumph. She takes on Vera Zvonareva in her opener with talented prospects, Clara Burel or Clara Tauson awaiting.
In her Quarter include Olympic Gold medalist, Belinda Bencic who will begin against Arantxa Rus as well as former Roland Garros champion, Iga Swiatek who will get a Qualifier in her opener.
Karolina Pliskova is fourth seed and will take on rising American star, Caty McNally who will team with Coco Gauff once more in the doubles.
Also in her side of the draw are the likes of Paula Badosa facing Alison van Uytvanck and three Grand Slam champions in Petra Kvitova (facing Polona Hercog), Jelena Ostapenko facing Nadia Podoroska and Bianca Andreescu who returns to Flushing Meadows after her triumph two years ago facing Viktorija Golubic.
As well as that, a potential tie of the round pits rising Ukrainian star, Marta Kostyuk against Greek ace, Maria Sakkari.
Defending champion is Naomi Osaka and she will begin against Marie Bouzkova, while she could face Angelique Kerber en route to the semi-finals.
It is also a stacked section with Camila Giorgi facing Simona Halep, with Marketa Vondrousova, Elina Svitolina and Elena Rybakina also set.
While Sabalenka is No.2 seed and could face Barbora Krejickova for a spot in the semi-finals, she begins against Nina Stojanovic.
Also in that section include Garbine Muguruza (v. Donna Vekic), Ons Jabeur and also last year's finalist Victoria Azarenka.
