Iga Swiatek will not play in today's
Bad Homburg Open semi-finals with a fever and potential food poisoning the cause as per a tweet from the Pole.
Swiatek was set to play Lucia Bronzetti as she hunted down a first senior grass court title in a real confidence boosting week ahead of Wimbledon.
But now she will hope that the illness is merely precaution ahead of Wimbledon starting next week.
Now Bronzetti will face the winner of Emma Navarro and Katarina Siniakova or Liudmila Samsonova with their Quarter-Final suspended ahead of the deciding set.
"I'm so sorry but I have to pull out of my match today. I had a restless night because of some fever and possible food poisoning," she wrote.
"I'm not able to perform today and I need to take care of myself. I hope I'll be fine soon. Your support in Bad Homburg was amazing, thank you.
