World No.1,
Iga Swiatek will again face
Linda Noskova for the third time this season at the
Miami Open on Sunday night in the third round of the Sunshine Double. Swiatek thrashed Camila Giorgi 6-1, 6-1 in the second round to continue her superb run.
Giorgi's poor performance on the serve confounded her misery, while Noskova received a bye in the first round and then defeated Maria Timofeeva on Saturday. This is the third time they will play having met at the Australian Open and Indian Wells Open.
Noskova stunned Iga Swiatek 3-6, 6-3, 6-4 at the Australian Open. However in usual Swiatek fashion, she responded straight away with a 6-4, 6-0 win en route to winning Indian Wells last week. Similar to Naomi Osaka v Caroline Garcia, it is the third time they will meet this season and Swiatek poked fun at the WTA after she sealed the win to set up the tie.
"Yeah, it's our third match, so pretty interesting. I mean, it would be nice if WTA could draw so we don't get bored. I'm kidding," the 22-year-old joked.
"Playing against her is tough, as you could see in Australia. I'm going to focus on myself and learn what I did wrong, what I did good on our last matches and just use that knowledge so I can play in a solid way, really efficiently," she continued.
"It's still going to be my second day of playing here, so I'm taking it easy. I'll just fight for every ball."
