The WTA draw has been confirmed ahead of the 2024 Brisbane International with Aryna Sabalenka, Elena Rybakina the top seeds in the WTA 500. Naomi Osaka will also return for the first time since becoming a mother in the tournament which will take place between December 31 - January 7, 2024.
Osaka will open her comeback against Tamara Korpatsch who won the Transylvania Open in the back end of the 2023 season and is ranked 84 in the world currently. The winner plays the current champion, Karolina Pliskova.
While when it comes to Sabalenka, she will face either Lucia Bronzetti or Ashlyn Krueger in the second round. Rybakina will face either a qualifier or home hope Kimberley Birrell but sits in a section with Katerina Siniakova and Sloane Stephens.
Other leading ties include Jelena Ostapenko facing either Camila Giorgi or Peyton Stearns. Mirra Andreeva, Victoria Azarenka, Veronika Kudermetova among others are all also involved over the next week with the draw mainly being players who are from neutral countries due to not being able to play United Cup.
