WTA Draw confirmed for 2022 Internazionali BNL d’Italia Rome: Raducanu-Andreescu in opening round, potential Round Two with Osaka

The 2022 Rome Masters will take place from May 9th till May 15th with some pretty great early matchups including Raducanu - Andreescu in the first round.

The event traditionally comes after the Madrid Masters and it is shaping up to be an epic affair. The top seed and defending champion is Iga Swiatek and unlike Madrid, she will play in Rome. Last years final saw a masterclass from Swiatek as she defeated Karolina Pliskova 6-0 6-0. Swiatek will have a 1st round bye with a potential 2nd round matchup against Rogers or Riske.

Emma Raducanu got a very tough draw as the Brit will face Bianca Andreescu in the first round. The Canadian is playing super solid tennis at the moment as she returned a few weeks ago in Stuttgart. That won't be an easy match for either but a sure confidence builder for the winner.

Another interesting one will be between Sorribes Tormo and Naomi Osaka as they played last week in Madrid as well with the Spaniard upsetting Osaka in two sets. Another interesting one is Simona Halep against Alize Cornet with Cirstea and Jabeur promising to be another good one. Check out the full draw below.
