WTA Draw confirmed for 2023 Miami Open including Andreescu-Raducanu in Round One with Sakkari for winner

The draw has been confirmed on the WTA side for the 2023 Miami Open which will take place between March 21 - April 2, 203 as the second part of the Sunshine Double.

After Indian Wells, all involved will head to Florida with Jessica Pegula on hand for the draw ceremony alongside tournament director and former player, James Blake.

Pegula will play either a qualifier or Czech prodigy Linda Fruhvirtova in the second round. Coco Gauff will face either Rebecca Marino or Yulia Putintseva.

Iga Swiatek was due to defend her title but has since withdrawn due to a rib injury with Julia Grabher replacing her in the draw as a lucky loser.

Stand-out first round ties include former US Open champions who perhaps haven't had the best of their careers since in Emma Raducanu and Bianca Andreescu with the winner facing Maria Sakkari. Leylah Fernandez is facing a qualifier with the likelihood of Belinda Bencic in the second round with both Canadians in the same quarter of the draw.

There is also a clash likely set between Marta Kostyuk and Anastasia Potapova which is set to likely garner headlines due to the latter's formal warning over wearing a Spartak Moscow jersey during Indian Wells.
