The draw has been confirmed ahead of Internazionali BNL d'Italia Rome (Italian Open) which is due to take place between May 9 - May 20 on the WTA side.
ATP draw will be completed on Monday 8 May, with the WTA concluded first.
Iga Swiatek will lead the field as a two-time defending champion with some emphatic wins in recent years for the World No.1. Albeit, she comes into Rome under threat.
The emergence of
Aryna Sabalenka since her Australian Open win has seen her recently also seal the Madrid Open.
Elena Rybakina went out early in Madrid but many also see her as a big threat to the Pole.
Also involved in Rome include
Jessica Pegula,
Ons Jabeur,
Coco Gauff,
Caroline Garcia, and
Maria Sakkari, with Belinda Bencic, Emma Raducanu though not involved due to injury.
Simona Halep similarly is one of only a few top WTA stars not involved with the outcome of her doping case not yet resolved.
Swiatek is set for a potential second round with Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova and sits in the same section as Elina Svitolina.
Sabalenka could start against Sofia Kenin who faces Cristina Bucsa in the opening round. Jabeur could face Paula Badosa in Round Two.
Beatriz Haddad-Maia could take on Czech prodigy, Linda Fruhvirtova in the second round. Liudmila Samsonova faces a tough section with Anett Kontaveit or Alycia Parks with Leylah Fernandez also sat there.
Victoria Azarenka could face Saint-Melo winner, Sloane Stephens also fresh off doubles glory with Beatriz Haddad Maia in Madrid. Bianca Andreescu could face Kaia Kanepi or Marketa Vondrousova as she continues her return to the court.
