While graceful in defeat against Aryna Sabalenka,
Iga Swiatek also left an awkward note as she aimed a dig at the organization of the
Madrid Open and in particular the Night Sessions, with tournament director
Feliciano Lopez's face painting a picture.
Swiatek who played late against Ekaterina Alexandrova in particular, one of her only tests as she went onto the final albeit losing to Sabalenka in three sets.
But complaining about having to adjust her sleeping pattern as a result of playing late. During her post-match interview, she said: "It’s not fun to play at 1 am though, so I’m happy anyway that I was able to get past this experience."
