Rafael Nadal is only one more withdrawal away from dropping out of the top 100 and it will happen if he doesn't play at
Roland Garros following a series of withdrawals since his injury.
Rafael Nadal had an incredible start to the year last year losing his first match in the Indian Wells final. The Spaniard gained a lot of points with the run and most of his points have come from that part of the season. His second half wasn't as good as he missed a few events following his injury at Wimbledon.
Due to that, he's in danger of dropping out of the top 100 because his hip injury sustained at the Australian Open has kept him out of action since then. All of those points he earned last are now gone and if he withdraws from Roland Garros he will leave the top 100. He's just one withdrawal away from dropping out of the top 100.
Something like that looked impossible last year with the way he performed however it's always tougher to hang on to your points than to win them initially. Expectations are that he will play at Roland Garros however it remains to be seen how much of the 2000 points he earned last year will be defended.
