The entry list for the WTA Finals has been confirmed with Marketa Vondrousova, Ons Jabeur, and Karolina Muchova closing out the Top eight players set to battle it out at the season-ending championship.
The WTA Finals will take place in Cancun, Mexico, from October 29 - November 5. The top five places were already decided after Aryna Sabalenka, Iga Swiatek, Coco Gauff, Elena Rybakina, and Jessica Pegula all passed the qualification cut of 3790 points.
The only other player that could have changed the line-up was World No. 6 Maria Sakkari who experienced a late surge after winning her first WTA 1000 title at the recent Guadalajara Open AKRON.
However, the Greek player's chances of qualification depended on making the semi-finals of the China Open, which she just missed out on with a quarter-final defeat to Gauff.
A season of great tennis from Top 8
All eight players have provided a season of great tennis, with each of the four Grand Slam winners having made it through.
World No. 1 Sabalenka won her first major title at the Australian Open in January, before Swiatek lifted her fourth trophy at a Slam when she defended her French Open title. After this, Vondrousova became the first unseeded woman to win Wimbledon in the Open Era, and Gauff won her first title at the US Open.
Jabeur and Muchova, who close out the list at seventh and eighth respectively, have both made it to major finals this year. The Czech player took a set off Swiatek in the Roland Garros final, while Jabeur made it to her third Grand Slam final at Wimbledon.
One notable absence from this year's tournament is reigning champion Caroline Garcia. The World No. 10 has had a difficult time as of late, exiting the US Open in the first round. While she has been having deeper runs at recent tournaments on the WTA Tour, she was sitting at nineteenth in the race to Cancun, putting her way out of reach.
