WTA Finals champion Caroline Garcia was honored in her hometown of Lyon by getting the medal of honour of the city.
Garcia's 2022 keeps getting better as she added yet another honor to her honors list. The French player received the medal of honor of Lyon for her tennis exploits this year which include several trophies including the WTA Finals.
Garcia enjoyed thes best season of her career in 2022 and it came out of nowhere. As the season turned to grass so did her play improve and she added trophies in Bad Homburg, Warsaw, a premier WTA 1000 one and the WTA Finals as well.
She won trophies on all surfaces in that span, hard, grass, clay, indoor. The medal of honour was presented to her by Gregory Doucet, the mayor of Lyon. He wrote on Twitter:

The excellence of your game and your perseverance make you a wonderful
ambassador for Lyon sport. Keep writing your legend and making us dream."
