The WTA tour will move to California for the 2024
San Diego Open, with superstars hoping to use the tournament as a means to strengthen their game prior to Indian Wells and Miami.
A WTA 500 event, the San Diego Open will run from February 26-March 3, 2024 and is hosted in San Diego. The tournament will see six of the top 30 players competing for the title, with two top 10 players already confirmed for the event.
Pegula will headline event, Muchova to make comeback
American tennis star
Jessica Pegula is slated to compete at the event, and she will be joined by fellow top 10 star
Karolina Muchova, who has been recovering after being sidelined by a wrist injury. The Ukrainian trio of Marta Kostyuk,
Dayana Yastremska and Leia Tsurenko are also expected to compete in San Diego. With so much star power present, the event is offering $922,573 in total
prize money, with the winner getting 500 WTA ranking points. Below is the full breakdown.
