WTA Race to Shenzhen Update: Gauff enters top 10 as Barty leads the pack

Unlike the WTA Rankings, the WTA race displays points won by players in the current calendar year (2021). The best performing player according to that list has been Ashleigh Barty with the Australian having some very strong results albeit without consistency.

Number two on the list is Aryna Sabalenka who is ahead of Krejcikova at 3 and Pliskova at 4. Iga Swiatek dropped down to 5 as Naomi Osaka is sitting at 6. Garbine Muguruza is at 7 as Ons Jabeur jumped up to number 8 after a strong week in Montreal.

Coco Gauff entered the top 10 for the first time this year after a string of consistent results in 2021. The top 10 is rounded out by Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova who is missing Cincinnati due to visa issues that have been resolved and she will play at the US Open.

The top 8 will qualify for the WTA Finals in Shenzen at the end of the season and with a crucial part of the season coming up it will be interesting. Check out the full list below.
