With just one week until Wimbledon begins, the WTA Race has seen some movement following the Berlin Ladies Open and the Nottingham Open, which crowned Marketa Vondrousova and McCartney Kessler as the week's champions. Despite these wins, Aryna Sabalenka and Coco Gauff continue to dominate the Race.
The top spots in the WTA Finals qualification race appear almost impenetrable due to the consistent performance of the world's best players. However, the gap between Madison Keys, Iga Swiatek, and Mirra Andreeva is narrowing, with potential changes by the end of the week.

Leaders hold comfortably

The significant points accumulated throughout the year by Aryna Sabalenka (6,615) and Coco Gauff (4,599) give them an unmovable advantage until after the next Grand Slam. They have held the first and second positions for several weeks now. Both can be considered virtually qualified for the WTA Finals with ease, although a good portion of the year still remains, and they appear as strong favorites to maintain their form.

Keys under ´ressure as Swiatek and Andreeva close In

The No. 3 in the Race is Madison Keys (3,975), who won the Australian Open earlier this year and has maintained consistent deep runs this season with a 30-9 record so far. The substantial lead she had a few weeks ago is beginning to shrink after her first-round loss at the Berlin Ladies Open – at the hands of eventual champion Vondrousova.
This week at Bad Homburg, Iga Swiatek (3,766) and Mirra Andreeva (3,487) are in competition, both as favorites for the title. If Swiatek reaches at least the final, she will overtake Keys, and Andreeva could do so if she wins the title. They could even meet in the final, causing Keys to drop a couple of positions before Wimbledon.

The Rest of the Contenders

With a well-established top 5, Jessica Pegula (2,898) leads the next wave of players, leaving Jasmine Paolini (2,579) and 2022 Wimbledon champion Elena Rybakina (2,406) further behind. Rybakina completes the top 8 that would currently be potentially qualifying for the WTA Finals.
A bit further back are Elina Svitolina (2,241), Amanda Anisimova (2,153), Emma Navarro (1,936), and Ekaterina Alexandrova (1,899).
On another note, Marketa Vondrousova – the champion in Berlin – made a notable ascent to No. 34 in the Race. Similarly, McCartney Kessler entered the top 35 for the first time this year (No. 23).
