WTA Ranking Update: Badosa, Pliskova, Muguruza and Sakkari gain from Swiatek drop

While the 2022 WTA season will not continue until this week in St Petersburg, the WTA Ranking has been updated for the new week.

Of course Ashleigh Barty is still on top with no change in the top three due to being ahead of the pack.

But there has been some changes from 4-8. Karolina Pliskova has not played this year but finds herself in the top four again.

Also gaining include Paula Badosa, Garbine Muguruza and Maria Sakkari with Iga Swiatek dropping four places to eighth.

While Ons Jabeur swaps with Danielle Collins to go into the top ten. Other rises include Victoria Azarenka (+1 to 17), Angelique Kerber (+2 to 18), Leylah Fernandez (+2 to 19). All a cause of Coco Gauff falling down to 20th.

Same can be said for Belinda Bencic who fell to 24th on the latest update five places. This has allowed rises for Daria Kasatkina, Simona Halep and Petra Kvitova up one each.

While Shelby Rogers going down to 47th has allowed the likes of Bianca Andreescu despite not playing any tennis for some time to go back into 46th place.

Also on a week which has seen Anastasija Sevastova announce a break from the sport - she has fell 14 places to 79th.
