There have been some WTA ranking changes going into the Australian Open with some big names moving positions both up and down.

Simona Halep has moved past Naomi Osaka in third position in the rankings. She reached the Quarter-Final in Adelaide losing to Aryna Sabalenka and plays Jennifer Brady in the first round in Melbourne.
This was despite Osaka reaching the semi-final in Brisbane. This change in ranking may only be temporary though with the duo less than 100 points between them.
Heather Watson further down reached the semi-final in Hobart so the former World No.38 has moved up 26 places to 75th in the world after that run. She will face Kristyna Pliskova at the Australian Open.
There were also moves for Dayana Yastremska after her run to the final in Adelaide, Danielle Rose Collins reached the semi-finals in Adelaide and they go up a few places to 21 and 25th respectively.
Elena Rybakina defeated Heather Watson in the semi-final in Hobart before going onto claim the title and she has gone up four positions to 26th in the world.
