Ashleigh Barty will fly into Tokyo for the Olympic Games as the best WTA player ahead of Naomi Osaka and Aryna Sabalenka.

After a week of the tour shifting back largely to the clay season, Ashleigh Barty is still number one on the rankings. The Australian has solidified herself as the best player in the world after a strong title run at Wimbledon. She holds a comfortable lead ahead of Osaka and Sabalenka who are number 2 and 3 respectively.

The only change in the top 10 was Garbine Muguruza climbing up to number 9 with Simona Halep on the brink of exiting the top 10. Halep has not played in a long time following a leg injury sustained prior to the French Open. Barbora Krejcikova won Prague Open which will serve as a great warm-up for Tokyo.

The Czech player bulldozed everyone on the hard court and jumped up to number 11 on the rankings. Putintseva and Zidansekg were the two other winners last week and both jumped up in the rankings. Putintseva is now 35th while Zidansek is 37th. In total six-player have new career-high rankings and they are as follows Krejcikova at 11, Zidansek at 37, Samsonova at 54, Martincova at 67, Kalinina at 81, and Burel at 99.
