Yastremska in particular saw off Amanda Anisimova 4-6, 7-6, 6-4; in a match where she was trailing by a set and a break late in the 2nd.
Anisimova served for the match at 6-4, 5-4 before Yastremska returned to take the tie in a deciding set and set up a tie with Simona Halep on Friday; after an impressive comeback from the Ukrainian.
Rybakina also had it tough against Marie Bouzkova with the number 10 seed coming back from 4-1 down in the 1st set before failing to serve out the match twice in the second. In the end though, she came out a 7-5, 7-6(3) victor.
Next up will be either Petra Martic or Yulia Putintseva as the Kazakh who showed such brilliant early promise hopes to build a head of steam in Rome; after previously seeing off Ekaterina Alexandrova 6-0, 6-4 on Monday gaining a measure of revenge for previous defeats.
