Elina Svitolina never skipped a chance to talk about Ukraine and the situation back home since the war started and she's still using her platform to talk about it.
The Ukrainian tennis player never shied away from speaking her mind on the Ukranian situation because she always felt compelled to use her platform to shine a light on it. She's been at the forefront of most of the meetings with the WTA and other organisations kind of coordinating the actions of the other players alongside veteran Lesia Tsurenko.

Useless coverage

She's still using her platform to talk about it blasting the coverage of tennis media on the topic as useless and doing it just for clicks:
"I feel like in tennis media is making some articles just a little bit just for sake of it. You know, just for clicks. Sorry to say that, but it's true. I don't know, some player not from Ukraine said something, it's not helping. It's not helping Ukrainian people. It's not helping us so much in any kind of way. For us it's just, yeah, empty words, as I mentioned before."
Impact of the war:
The war obviously impacted Svitolina's life directly and she talked about some of that after her latest comeback win over Storm Hunter:
"Yeah, firstly, I changed. I think war changed me in so many ways. I think I treasure more my family, my time with my family, my time just on a daily basis. You know, I really try to understand that how lucky I am to be where I am and to have a voice, as well. Also to, you know, to play on such a big event, to have opportunity to play such big events, to motivate young kids of Ukraine, to have this opportunity."
