Veteran player Shuai Zhang hasn't been having a very good season and after a swift exit from this year's Roland Garros, the Chinese player was seen sobbing during the press conference.
It's been a really tough time for Zhang who hasn't played a very good match today. She faced Frech and lost in less than an hour with a score of 6-1 6-1. After the match, Zhang broke down in tears while talking to the Chinese media which shows the amount of frustration that she's been dealing with this year.
Poor play
The 34-year old still holds a solid ranking however her level this year has been far from ideal. She holds a 4-11 record overall which is far below her standards and the quick exit from Roland Garros just shows that she's really struggling right now. Zhang has been away from home for 3 years never returning to China after coming into conflict with the Tennis Federation of the country.
They didn't allow her to compete at the Tokyo Olympics and just travelling around the world for 3 years has been very mentally exhausting.
