Alexander Zverev and Felix Auger-Aliassime were the best two players in men's part of the Ultimate Tennis Showdown 2 (UTS 2). On the other hand, Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova and Alizé Cornet were the finalists in the women's tournament.
And it was the women's final that was the first on the schedule. After Cornet previously defeated 13-years-old talent, Brenda Fruhvirtova and Pavlyuchenkova outplayed Ons Jabeur, the two set up the final in France.
It was the Russian that took an early lead in the match. After winning the first quarter 16-8 and the second 12-11, she led already 2-0. However, Cornet managed to come back and won the following two quarters 14-11, 16-9 to force the sudden death. However, there, it was Pavlyuchenkova who prevailed again to become the champion of the first women's Ultimate Tennis Showdown competition.
In men's final, Felix Auger-Aliassime and Alexander Zverev showed why they were the seeded players at the Ultimate Tennis Showdown 2 (UTS 2). The Canadian and German played one match already yesterday and Zverev triumphed after sudden death.
This time it was a similar story. After Zverev won the first quarter 19-10, Auger-Aliassime leveled the score by winning the second 13-11. He then got the lead in the match as he has won the third quarter 18-11.
However, Zverev managed to fight back and so the match reached the sudden death after he has won the 4th quarter 18-8. In the sudden death, it was the German who prevailed again and won two points in a row first.
After winning both matches at the UTS 2, Alexander Zverev became the second men's champion of the Ultimate Tennis Showdown after Matteo Berrettini triumphed in the first edition of the tournament.
