2020 Miami Open set to continue as scheduled amid Coronavirus fears

With the Indian Wells being cancelled amid the Coronavirus outbreak, many were speculating as to the future of the Miami Open which is set to take place from March 23- April 5.

The organisers were quick to reveal the future of the tournament saying in a statement that they will be continuing as normal; while also monitoring the current state of the Coronavirus; as well as that they will be working with the WTA and ATP to utilise the best measures to deal with this.
The statement says the following: "The 2020 Miami Open is moving forward as scheduled, March 23 - April 5. Safety remains a top priority and we are monitoring the COVID-19 situation closely; with local, state and federal officials; as well as health organizations in the lead up to the tournament.
In addition, we are working with the ATP and WTA tours on recommended best practices; as well as following CDC guidelines closely to provide a safe environment for fans, players and staff."
At the moment many big names are involved in the tournament with Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal, Dominic Thiem and Daniil Medvedev among the entrants. Andy Murray is also targeting a return to the court in this tournament; ahead of the summer.
